“In 1965, Mary Woronov (aka ‘Mary Might') was Queen of the New York Underground, Andy Warhol's imperious, walking wet-dream in tight black leather and a wicked snarl - the stunning sadist of Chelsea Girls, the dominating dyke of New York's legendary Theater of the Ridiculous. She played a merciless store detective in Warhol's Hedy; she was mean Hanoi Hannah in Chelsea Girls; she played the seductively dominating mother in Tavel's Kitchenette at the Theater of the Ridiculous; and she was Empress of the Universe, no less, in Charles Ludlum's Conquest of the Universe.
“These days she lives in Hollywood and makes exploitation pictures - not as big a change as you might think. She's been in some of the best, weirdest and most outrageous Roger Corman-produced films of the last five years, including Paul Bartel's Death Race 2000 and Cannonball, and the already-legendary Hollywood Boulevard, directed by Joe Dante and Allan Arkush. Currently, she's shooting Disco High, with Arkush directing.
