Presented in Association with Japan Today, the Japan Society and the Japan Film Library Council
During July, we will present eight films from the touring series “Postwar Japanese Society Through Film,” an event of “Japan Today,” the nationwide celebration of contemporary Japanese arts and culture, funded by The National Endowment for the Arts, The National Endowment for the Humanities, Matsushita Electric (Panasonic), and The Japan Foundation. The films in this series were selected by the Japan Film Library Council, with the assistance of Mrs. Kashiko Kawakita and Mr. Akira Shimizu of the Council, Donald Richie, and Audie Bock.
