Girl Crazy
Based on the George and Ira Gershwin Broadway success, this Judy Garland-Mickey Rooney “vehicle” has all the hallmarks of a mid-forties MGM musical. It was credited to Norman Taurog but has Busby Berkeley as director of the elaborate “I Got Rhythm” number and Charles Walters as over-all dance supervisor. The production is by Arthur Freed and Roger Edens. Among the songs are “Embraceable You” and “But Not For Me.”
