An Adventure of Salvatore Rosa (Un Avventura Di Salvatore Rosa)
“A film which is rich in historical detail. Like some other Blasetti films, notably 1860 and The Old Guard, this work transcends the artificiality of the historical genre through attention to human beings; that is, characters who have interesting dimensions.”
-Ted Perry
The story concerns Salvatore Rosa, versatile artist, poet, painter of landscapes and battles. His romantic life is the inspiration for this fictional tale, a fable of the masked hero “The Ant,” Rosa's alter ego, a friend and defender of the people. In the tradition and style of Robin Hood, Zorro, and other masked heroes.
