Surely the highlight of our Fall 1976 Music and the Movies Festival was the series of eight three-hour programs of Jazz on Film drawn from the collection of John Baker, the world's first and foremost collector of jazz film material. We have had many requests to repeat the entire 24-hour series, and to show additional selections from the hundreds of hours of material in Baker's collection. At some point in 1979, we hope to present a third Music and the Movies Festival, and to showcase at least as many Baker programs as we presented in 1976. But as John and Virginia Baker will be visiting this area now, we could not resist the opportunity to program at least a small sampling of Baker's treasures.
