Generally held by progressive Iranians as the most “revolutionary” film produced in Iran, Tangsir codes its incendiary contemporary message in a story set fifty years ago. Its setting is Tangestan on the Persian Gulf where, fifty years ago, a poor man who was cheated of his savings by rich merchants takes bloody revenge and escapes.
