Sugar (Le Sucre)
Just released a month or so ago in Paris, to very good reviews, Le Sucre deals with stock market manipulations, and co-stars two of France's leading actors, Gerard Depardieu and Jean Carmet. According to Variety: “The Sugar's main tale is a sort of bizarre friendship between a man taken by a brokerage firm and the wheeler-dealer who hooks him. Gerard Depardieu somewhat overcharges the part of the operator, where the balance, with Jean Carmet's little-man portrayal of a man who has used his wife's inheritance on the market, is also uneven.”
