“Gosha, who works principally in action films and is best known to American audiences for his Yakuza and chambara films, directed this film noir about a man who leaves prison with a job to kill three men for five million yen each. But someone is getting to the victims before he can and it looks as if he will be the fourth. His search for the men turns into a search for the truth, an odyssey through the underworld, its bars and backstreets."
