In Ed Bowes' Better, Stronger, a husky voiced actress (Karen Achenbach) leaves California for New York City to loop her recently completed film. She becomes entangled in that city's tenseness and speed. Sponsored by Channel 13's TV Lab, the tape has the look of commercial TV, but the characters and their dialogue would hardly be found on the home screen. Whether pummeling each other, talking about sex, or worrying about art - the characters' humor and energy are well-paced and exciting.
