Berkeley Ballet Theater and Post:ballet present excerpts from Still Be Here, a new collaboration with Kronos Quartet featuring original scores commissioned for Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire. Highlighting the diverse choreography of artists including Mia J. Chong, Emily Hansel, Babatunji Johnson, Moscelyne ParkeHarrison, Dani Rowe, Keon Saghari, and Chuck Wilt, Still Be Here integrates the Post:ballet company dancers and the studio company of Berkeley Ballet Theater. The final production premieres at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The performance at BAMPFA utilizes the Kronos Quartet’s recordings of the scores, as well as a collection of remixes created by Sunset Youth Services, and features music by composers including Fodé Lassana Diabaté, Joan Jeanrenaud, Nicole Lizée, Wu Man, Angelica Negrón, and Charlton Singleton. With costume design by Aine Dorman and creative direction by Robin Dekkers, Still Be Here is an artistic celebration of our collective resilience and capacity to impact one another and the world around us.
