Please join us for an intimate, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the workings of BAMPFA’s Curatorial Department in the first of six biweekly conversations with our curators—our rock stars! On Thursday, April 30, we will be joined by Apsara DiQuinzio, who will talk about a seminal exhibition in the pipeline: New Time: Art and Feminisms in the 21st Century.

With a focus on work made in the last twenty years, New Time will be the first museum exhibition to explore twenty-first-century feminist art practices in depth and across a wide array of themes and subjects. The exhibition will present diverse artists of all genders who are integrating feminist thought into their work. Featured artists and collectives include: Anohni, Louise Bourgeois, Judy Chicago, Ellen Gallagher, Chitra Ganesh, Nicki Green, Lynn Hershman Leeson, Jenny Holzer, Ella Kruglyanskaya, Kalup Linzy, Marilyn Minter, Zanele Muholi, Mai-Thu Perret, Pussy Riot, Christina Quarles, R. H. Quaytman, Carol Rama, Lara Schnitger, Amy Sillman, Kiki Smith, Sturtevant, Lava Thomas, Kara Walker, Francesca Woodman, Wu Tsang, and many more. New Time will reveal how these artists working today build on, adapt, honor, and diverge from feminist work of previous generations.

This event is open to Curator’s Circle members at the $1,000 level and above. Space is limited, and reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Registered participants will receive an email with a secure event link on April 28.
